5 years ago my husband and and I pulled up our roots and moved to Western Massachusetts, sounds quite close to where your house is. I would love to connect when and should you land here again
Since we connected so quickly and easily, I am sure you will have no difficulty developing a new circle of close friends wherever life takes you. Be patient and the magic will happen.
I understand, completely, from where you are coming, Joanna. In 2003, I went to Summer Institute for the first time. I fell in love (at age 50!) with someone (not your brother, although I met him there, too). The relationship, such as it was, did not work out, but it served its purpose. I went home and ended my very unhappy 26-year marriage. My son was in college, I was a RN. After 3 years of living on my own in Ohio, I became a Travel Nurse and moved to Oregon. My first assignment was in Bend, although I wanted to be in Portland. I knew no one, but found a UU Church which helped a lot. I now live in Hillsboro, OR with my second husband and I am very happy. But I so miss my friends in Ohio. I went back to SI every year until 2016 but can no longer afford the journey, either financially or physically. I love reading Hal' s journal, heart-breaking as it is, and look forward to reading your words, as well. Good luck and Trust Your Journey. Pamela Midyett
Hi, Johanna! I’m here via Hal - longtime follower of his. I live in Amherst, not far from where you’ll be living. Easthampton is such a lovely community with a strong arts presence. I hope your move goes smoothly and you can settle in quickly! Let me know if I can help in any way or if you just need a friend.
OMG! A day for the history books. You’re amazing Johanna. We’re all rooting for you. ❤️
Thanks Hal <3
